Bridgeport Skating Club

The Bridgeport Skating Club is a 35 year club member of the United States Figure Skating Association (U.S.F.S.A.). The club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and enjoyment of figure skating. Our purpose is to further the art of figure skating and to have professional instruction available to interested members. Our goal is to cultivate every child's love of ice skating into a life long passion.
Originally founded in 1955 as the Southport Skating Club, the organization moved its home base to Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport, when the rink was constructed in 1968. A second sheet of ice was added in October 2006.  This has enabled Wonderland of Ice to add even more time and resources to the BSC.  The club which over the years has provided ice time for many of skating's elite, such as Dorothy Hamill, has also sent many skaters to national and international competitions. Today the program offers twelve hours of prime time freestyle ice, along with four Learn to Skate sessions each week.

The Bridgeport Skating Club has been the host for the Central Eastern Regional Figure Skating Competition each spring, since 1977. This event draws competitive figure skaters from throughout the northeast. Please visit our CERC menu link for more detailed information.
