The Birmingham Figure Skating Club (BFSC), founded in 1961, is a member club of the U.S. Figure Skating Association (USFSA), which is the governing body of figure skating in the United States. Birmingham Figure Skating Club is a non-profit organization, dedicated to promoting amateur figure skating in the Birmingham area.
Birmingham Figure Skating Club's Goals
•Promote figure skating in Birmingham and the surrounding areas
•Encourage the instruction, practice and advancement of its members in all disciplines of figure skating
•Provide support for skating members participating in USFSA competitions
•Create opportunities for local skaters to showcase their talents
•Provide educational opportunities related to skating for skaters, coaches and other members
•Provide the necessary path for local skaters who aspire to National, International, and Olympic competition
•Encourage and cultivate a spirit of fraternal feeling among its skating members
•Carry out the general policies and objectives of the USFSA
